About BillBee.work, and the person who builds it.

Why it exists

Most invoicing software is built for accountants. A freelancer who worked twelve days for a client in October does not need a ledger. They need to say which days they worked, at what rate, and send an invoice the client can approve without a back-and-forth.

BillBee.work is built around the work itself. You log your days on a calendar as the month goes, and at the end the invoice fills itself in, with a small work log of those days printed underneath. The client sees exactly what they are paying for, and you skip the spreadsheet of dates and the email asking “which days was this for?”.

How BillBee.work works

You add a client once: their details, currency, an invoice number prefix, the services you do for them with your rates, and a tax line if you charge VAT or GST. Each service is billed by the day, by the hour (8 hours per logged day) or as a fixed price, and one invoice can mix all three.

Through the month you mark which services ran on which days on the service calendar. When you create the invoice, auto-fill pulls in that month's services and days, numbers it, and shows a live A4 preview in one of five templates. You share a link your client opens in any browser without signing up, and BillBee.work tracks it as pending, paid or overdue. What it will not do

BillBee.work does one job. So you know before you try it, it does not:

• send invoices or payment reminders by email (you paste the link into your own message);
• take payments: your client pays you directly, using the payment details printed on the invoice;
• create recurring invoices, estimates, quotes or credit notes, or track expenses and hours;
• do your accounting or tax returns, or convert between currencies.

Plans and support

BillBee.work is free for up to 10 saved invoices, with every template, currency and share link, and no credit card to sign up. Pro is $7.99 a month or $79.99 a year, and adds unlimited invoices, PDF downloads for you and your clients, and the option to remove the “Created with BillBee.work” line. You can manage or cancel Pro any time from Settings, and keep it until the end of the period you paid for. Questions go to support@billbee.work.

The maker
